View Full Version : hello everyone
Anything new and exciting going on in your tank? New equipment, corals or fish? I bought a new camera and am still trying to figure out how to adjust it for tank shots. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif I built sump the other day and may actually install it soon, providing I get the ambition to tear the old set up out.....

Well, Not directly with my tank, I did build a new computer a few weeks ago. I have AquaNotes as well as AquacontrollerII that I want to connect into the computer, along with a camera in the canopy. I am hoping to run a live feed onto my website of my tank. I think it would be great to see it from any computer I am on. I installed Windows XP on the computer and have so many crashes and problems, that Microsoft's engineers are helping me with it. I am hopeful that we got it fixed today. But then I am running with just the bare essentials and the nic card to get online. Each driver install could cause a system failure again. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I have never had this many problems with a windows program. Two weeks to get the computer to load windows /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ugh.gif I am at my wits end. I was going to overclock this one, but with all these problems, I don't think so.

Hi Geo. Just foolin with the new tank. Keep changing closed loops around to get the best circulation. Running a small Iwaki on a 1in. output and a Mak4, also taken up to a 1in. output.
Also having skimmer wars. Trying to get my 32in. beckett to skim as well as my old F1 Euroreef. Yet to happen though. I just put the beckett in the sump. Only 16in. to the injector now. The Mak4 should be able to pump nice at that height.
As for lighting, sticking with the two 400w Radiums on Bluewave ballast, with the 400w PFO & 55K, in the center. I will change it to a 65K Iwasaki in the future.
Tracey, I am a computer ding dong.... dont even know what a NIC would be /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif good luck with it anyhow! I cant add anymore pumps to my tank, the heat is an issue already with me. I pulled one iwaki pump and the venturi skimmer and am playing with the other skimmer now. cant get the injecter to work like I feel it should. I did install the new sump /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well I did just order a new 50 gall acrylic pentagon tank that will be a pearly jaw fish and Oceanrider sea horse tank. Wont go up for a few mounths though. Have to build a stand when the tank is done and find the fish.

Geo,
It is to connect your computer to the internet when you are using a DSL line or Cable modem. It replaces your telephone modem (dial-up) and makes the internet fast and fun. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Hey I didn't crash yesterday /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/spin.gif I am happy! Two more drivers and I can start installing my software.

As far as my tanks Geo everything is status quo. I could as always spend more time fragging with my corals but otherwise they are big and healthy.

Well, the computer is still up and running without any other problems. Got everything to work except my printer. I will either use the printer connected to another computer in the office network or exchange the epson printer at the house with this one. I am still running ME on that one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Geo, Cable modem is the only way to surf, at least once you have tryed it.
