pesky mantis shrimp

I got a shipment from IPSF today and put everything in the tank in the morning. I got home from work to see a little mantis shrimp (only 1-1.5") trying to get at one of the baby turbo snails. He's not big enough to do any damage to it, but I'd still like to get him out. I had a pet mantis shrimp (about 8") in a 10g tank for a couple years, but I'd hate to see the kind of damage one would do to my reef. He grabbed a little snail and ran off with it, and I can hear him clicking against the shell but I don't know which rock he's in. Luckily the tank is new enough (only been running for 1 month) that I don't have to worry about disturbing things by taking a bunch of rocks out.

You might try baiting one of those traps sold with a bit of fresh food /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif He sure is small so make sure to get one where he can't get out. Otherwise at that size I don't know what else might work.

I did some research and made a trap myself. I'll probably wait a few days to try it out because I'm sure I spooked it by trying to get it out today. I got all of the smallest snails I could find out and put them in the refugium, hopefully there's not a mantis shrimp in that too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
