View Full Version : reef filler pump
I picked up a used reef filler, no destructions on how to use the thing. I have a couple of questions for anyone who has used one of theses things...
does the pump head need to be positioned in a certain way? Does the filler need to be lower than the water source it is pumping?

George,
I do not have one but I did a bit of searching for you last night. These things are quite noisy just to let you know. They are very powerful thus you can hide it somewhere remote you can buffer the sound. You would not want this right below you tank as the noise would drive you crazy. From reviews on this product the pump head can be positioned most any way. The water can be below the product as well. The newer reef-fillers are auto priming however I would assume yours is an older model. To get the pump started just make sure to fill the pup head with water before attaching the outlet hose. She should pump fine after that. These things are suppose to pump water like 200 feet away.
