I would not let any coral be out of the water longer than it needs to be. Glueing a colt coral is not impossible but close to that. You need to dry the area to attach and quickly glue it and hope. How big a piece are you attaching? I think tieing some line just tight enough will keep it in place llong enough to attach. I have an Adult Nepthea (Colt) over the size of a BASKETBALL. Many Babies are the size of softballs. The darn thing will not stop growing. It takes up half of a 25 gallon tank I have in my kitchen. I moved it there out of my 55 gallon since it took up the entire one corner. I usually cut off small cuttings and let them rest on the bottom to attach to sand and rubble. It is easy as anything to attach them then.
The problem with fresh cuttings is that they secrete a slimy substance and you will never get them to bond. Allow them to heal the wound and self attach to some substrate then your glueing the substrate to a rock and not the animal. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sounds like a good plan, I will do it the way you said to. Mine is about the size of a soccer ball, I'm going to try a piece thats about 4 in tall with its new base at about 3/4 in dia.. I've ran out of room in my 75 and its starting to touch some of the other corals and they are not enjoying it much so at least if this ends in a disaster I'll have bought some time. I really need to tear it down and re locate everything I went into this whole thing kinda blind and was not aware how the animals grew, so I need to undo my original mistakes and get it straight. thanks for the info. will let you know how it turns out....Aaron
