Good Morning everyone...I hope everyone had a very nice Christmas...I for one did....I have in the past usually purchased those plastic tongs..I am sure everyone has seen those cheap POS....they break very easily...what do some of you guys and girls use out there that may last awhile...I try not to just stick my hand in the tank all the time...but when a snail turns over I like to right him back before someone decides to dine on him...besides my Naso Tang likes to bite me all the time...it does not hurt at all it just takes you my suprise and I keep elbowing my canopy and sooner or later will probably do some damage to the bulbs with that quick bump..my Naso is a little bugger...he just alway has to nibble on me at least once..then he goes away...I can usually pet his side after I let him bite me..its pretty neat..but everyone needs a good set of tongs for certain applications..thanks

I use a stainless steel device that is made for picking up parts out of a acid etching vat, It looks just like the cheap ones that most mechanics have for getting bolts that fell in the engine when they were working on them. I rinse it off with ro water when I'm done.

You know what I have a heavy duty plastic tongs that work great and have never broke. We are talking like the good ones.
However I never use them. I have found over the years that I prefer using my hands and can get things better that way since a hand has better dexterity. Sometimes the simpler method is the best and no hitting bulbs with tongs that way. Only drawback is having to dry your arm.

I brought the "pinchers" home from work when I had our lion fish in the reef tank for a while when I took "his" tank down to re-seal a leaky corner, I guess I just got used to not getting salt in all the cuts I get on my hands from work. (curse of a maintenance man) made a world of difference.
