Does anyone know where to get the lowest prices on filter replacements? The best I've come across is $4.99 for a 1 mic sediment, 13.99 for a 1 mic carbon and I use a kent HI S system so $29.99 for a mixed bed di cartridge. If you know where to get them cheaper please let me know, thanks, Aaron

I get the Marine Depot special (http://www.marinedepot.com/?specials=reefcentral) on the two cartridges: 1 micron sediment and a .5 micron carbon for $19.86

For the resin I bought it bulk at www.resindepot.com. (http://www.resindepot.com.) I got the Mixed Bed Resin for $79 last spring. Even at $129+shipping still averages out to less than $5 a refill. Best to get several people to split it as it is enough resin to fill a 5g salt bucket plus about a 1/3 of another....

I too have a Kent Hi-S and I am pretty much convinced the Hi-S part is pretty much a marketing scam.

Thanks Dave, I will look into resin depot, I to seem to think it is marketing scam, but I am fairly happy with the Hi s system otherwise.

Dave, Does the resin "go bad" if it isn't used quickly IE: buying the 1 Ft3 lots and using it my self over time and storing it in a salt bucket that is sealed well?
