View Full Version : Summer's almost here...
Summer's almost here and I was wondering if those that trade are about ready to start trading frags. I have some, but being I live in Houston it's got to be done before the hottest part of summer gets here.

Spring and Fall are the best time of year as we know Sue.
So how is everything going with your these days?
Hi Chuck...Doing as well as can be expected, I guess.
I have gotten a few new and exciting things. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Since my 120 is now a FOWLR, all the corals are in the 180. Switching out old and not as unusual stuff for the rare has been something else. Fun, but trying.

Oh cool so your only running one reef tank now. Decided to go to the less work FOWLR. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
It was kind of decided for me. I had wanted to keep some butterfly's and things just kind of worked out that way. I got rid of some things moved the rest to the 180 and it is doing great. Finding out about the Tropic Marin Bio-Calcium has been unbelievable in the difference in the corals. Growth is crazy.

I would get into the trading as well even though I have very little to trade at this point. I started with all frags 6 months ago and most are small colonies now. They are doing extremely well. Much better than I expected actually. In the next couple of weeks I will be cleaning the viewing glass in my tank and so will be able not only to see what the hell is bwhind it, but will be able to take pictures for those interested as well. New bulbs are on the way as well. Maybe even some lumenarc reflectors by mid summer.

Chuck,
The pocillopora is doing great. I still haven't figured out how to frag it with out destroying it. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Do you still have the frag of the purple acro from last years summer tank tour?

You mean the green/purple? Yeah its about twice the size or more from last year.
That Eudoxi is going to be tough for ya to cut I know. As thick as it is I think it is going to be tough to cut unless you like take a fine hack saw blade and can remove the piece from the water.
Chuck, I think you're right about needing to use something like a hacksaw for fragging a pocillopora eydouxi. The one I got is doing well too and as far as fragging it any kind of clippers is not going to work. Plus I don't think I'd be strong enough to do it. These lobes are so thick and are all there is as far as branches.
