Hello to all, My name is Ron & I use old Ron as my user name. I am a member of several saltwater sites and have been for several years. Most are great, some are less than ok, One large site is very frustrating as a lot of the posts and threads end in near fistfights [if we would be face to face]I mean.
If someone posts "it is white " threads will be posted it is black no! it is grey. I became a member of Reef Talk a few days ago and was posting a few threads when I noticed the post dates and they were almost as old as I am
what is wrong with this site? It looks like if it were not for omegatron the site would be about bare. I know that a post needs replies and replies need interested posters and browsers. So I am going to give it a while yet before I give up and go back to the gang wars. help me want to stay come on post & reply. * MAKE MY DAY * Respectfully, old ron

Ron,
That is an interesting concept. We seem to have a few of us here that post. It has been slow the past few months. I too hate the big boards. This site has alot of lurkers. The stats are not that bad for this site. People sign up weekly but most seem to just look and read. There are several people with a few posts only. Posting on a board is a weird thing. Most boards see a huge percentage of the registered users hardly posting alot and there are usually a good percentage of diehard posters. I would personally rather see quality posters and not quantity posters. Other than the lack of posts there are a good number of people browsing the site a day.
All I can say to those reading this post is if you enjoy the site then post your questions and answer posts you want and help make the site a fresh enjoyable place to be.

Hi Ron,
Many of us still stop in here. I dont know why he posting has slowed to a trickle. Perhaps many, like myself, have just tired of posting a lot. I dunno what it is. I still check the board everyday. Guess I will have to argue with Chuck about lighting somemore. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Chuck, I just threw the pic in to show ya what I have been up to, besides spoiling my little grandaughters. Agreed it needs some coral. There growing. Most are frags and most are now soft. Its a flatworm story for later. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Thanks Ron. Its a 225, filtered by a large scrubber & skimmer. Many new frags growing, some old corals, like my 10yr. old bubble & cup corals. Tons of crawlies. Fish include a Red Sea sailfin, a young scopas, 8 green chromis, a big ole fat manderin, that loves brine shrimp, flatworms, etc. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif, a fat leopard wrasse that east everything in the tank instead of the flatworms it was to eat, including the tangs clipped nori and of course I still have my pair of Blue Striped Cinnamon clowns, that live in the bubble coral.

Yeah if I remember which is that like the 3rd installment of tank changes? Just teasing ya about the need for coral. You know my 120 began with all SPS frags and you know what it turned into. That tank will get there. I just love those darn wall tanks. One of these days when I get tired of taking care of 5 reef tanks I am going to get a huge tank and just run one large tank.

Chuck, best thing with the wall, is all the ugly junk that can go behind in the fishroom. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Yep, its about the 3rd change in the last few years. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Thats it. The next one will be a 20gal. sps tank.

Chuck, to be truthful, I have talked with a friend about changing tanks. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif
The ongoing flatworm fight has the best of me sometimes. My friend has a 5/8th glass, 120g, built by the same guy as my 225. It has a beautiful stand. We may swap tanks and only my sump will be in the fishroom.
Just to much to do an all sps tank in the 225, so the 120 may be better. So if everything must be removed to treat again, well, stay tuned for
"As the tank turns" soap opera. http://www.reeftalk.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/uppydown.gif
