I've been debating which skimmer to get the past few weeks. I was trying to decide between the korallin, geo, precision marine, and lifereef. I've done searches on these calcium reactors and all get really good comments.
I ended up deciding to go with the korallin. The main reason is space. I have very limited space in my stand. So, the 6" diameter means that the korallin best suits my space needs. Next, price. The korallin, precision marine, and lifereef are all about the same price and the GEO is about $100 less. I was thinking about lifereef since I have a lifereef berlin system and love it. But, since the lifereef costs as much as a commercially made one (korallin and precision marine), that made me lean towards the korallin. Another factor of the korallin I liked was CO2 consumption and the CO2 safety feature.
My only concerns with the korallin are setup and CO2 buildup in the reactor. For those that have setup a korallin, was it hard to get it "dialed-in"? What about CO2 build-up? Were you constantly purging out excess CO2? If these are bothersome issues with the korallin, then I may have no choice but to set up the CA reactor outside of the stand and go with any of the others...
thanks for the replies and help...
