I wanted to share a picture of my green monti. cap that I purchased as a frag from omegaton approx 1 year ago, to the left of center you can see a green bali slimer that got in its way, that also was growing nice until it met Mr Monti..you can see who won that battle

So I take it that it has done well for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes, it has done very well for me, and many frags for my friends...the main piece that I do not want to touch is almost 12 inches in diameter right now..I just feel bad about the bali slimer I got from you..It did not stand a chance..it is amazing how fast some corals will grow..I have more respect for the distance required between corals for growth...that is one major problem with my tank right now..alot of corals are to the point of touching, I just never realized they would all take off like this..
thanks

Nice cap. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
As I restock my 225 with sps, I am leaving lots of growth room for the corals. But it looks so barren for so long. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You know the funny thing is in my 120 most all of my corals touch and I have no problems. I think I remember you saying you lost the Bali Slimer which is remarkable in that it is a hardy fast grower for most. I forgot how you lost it.

Some of my corals that are touching start bleaching, or at least turning white where they touch, others sort of realize it and start growing in another direction, or if it is encrusting the edges start curlying up and growing upward so I guess each coral does its own think..my slimer got in the middle the the green monti you can make it out on the left side of the picture...the part that is above the monti. cap is doing fine, the part that is under the monti. and is shaded is off white, not a bleach white..it may be still alive but is getting no light, I have two tri color acro's that grew together to form one larger colony, what I find amazing is now much the acro's spread across the rock as a base before they start growing upward many many times the size they probably actually need..
