Is it possible to have to large a pump on your skimmer..I have a recently purchased ETS600 that came with a RIO Hyperflow 26 I believe it is...rated for 1500GPH...the skimmer recommends 500 - 700 GPM....mines is 1500GPH less a 3 foot head so what is that maybe 1200GPH...reason I ask is because I am having a hard time getting the nice thick foam to flow over the collection cup rim..it gets up there but just sits..if I raise the water levels the air bubbles seem to decrease quite a bit..right now I have the water level at the first set of 8 inch flanges before it reduces to 6 inch..I believe they are 8 and 6...I am thinking maybe the pump is pushing the water through too fast?? could this happen, do you think this pump is to much for the ETS600??
previous owner said it worked fine for him..

Thanks

You can use a flow valve like a ball valve or such to restrict flow and see if that works. A simple modification to make and you could see what happens. I have an old Aqua-C EV150 that I use an Iwasaki 30 on and I need to flow it down to work right.
