Acclimation

In my 75 gal. I have some soft corals, and some fish. They have gotten along fine with SO fluorescents. Now that I am going to upgrade to a MH/PC combo, what is the best way to acclimate my soft corals and fish to the stronger light? (especially the fish, I'm very fond of them - one has been in there for several years).
Any knowledge out there?

The new brighter lighting wont bother the fish that much as it will more effect the corals.
There is 2 ways mostly used to aclimation to mew lights.
1. Have the lights well above the tank and lower them donw slowly over a few weeks period.
2. Start with a short photo period of a few hours (3-4) and slowly like a half hour every other day increase the photo period to desired length.
