Im looking to install a 200 or 300 gallon tank in my living room, ive been round all my local dealers to see what types of tank they can offer me. but theyr advice is very conflicting when it comes to type of set up, some people told me its best to get a sump others tell me its an expense not worth having, because the skimmer can hang off the back of the tank and the pumps etc can be hidden behind rocks and in cuboards underneath the tank, so they dont destract from my display.

what have you guys gone for? is a sump far more expensive than a regualer setup? and is it worth the extra cost?

I have a 55 gallon aquarium and when I started some were telling me to get a sump and others were totally against it. I wouldn't have a tank witout on now. I have my skimmer and my heater all located there. Even if you get one and you don't like it you can always turn it in to a refugium. But yeah I love my sump.
