Has L.E.D. or any other new type of lighting come into use for reef tanks? L.E.D. is an intense light source which gives off little heat. My four 48 inch VHO's create a lot of heat and I know halides would create more. I have soft corals and one Maxima which do well with the VHO's, but my tank is built in to our wall unit, and a hotter light source (to support stony corals) would be unsafe.
