I'm curious which brand of RO or RO/DI filter people would recommend using> I currently use an Aquarium Pharm. DI filter since the only tank we have is a 5.5 gallon nano... but we're about to put the 75 gallon reef together and replacing these DI filters every 30-40 gallons will be too expensive.

So the questions are:
1) RO or RO/DI?

2) Which brand filter do you recommend?

3) How long can I expect filter media to last?

Most are good.

I personally like Spectrapure.

As far as types of filter etc. You are going to have to deal with price.

I would go with .5m on cartridges but again this is a pricing thing and these are the most expensive. This is what I use. You can use 1M but remember the higher the rating the more organics can get through.

As far as the flow membrane this is personal choice. I use 100GPD membrane. You can buy anything from a 25-100GPD. I would also use a RO/DI. There are either one or two stage DI addons.

i was looking into ro/di systems for myself and had a few questions. i was looking at the spectrapure 4 stage RODI, what's the difference between the MPDI and the CSP? it's about $100 difference, and if the effect is minimal i'll probably go the cheaper rout, but if it makes a difference i'm willing to pay the extra cash. also is there that big of a difference between the 4 stage and the 5 stage?

I use a ARS system since they are a little cheaper and the systems them selves are pretty much all the same it really comes down to the stuff you put in them that makes a real difference or so I believe anyways.

Hello, this is my first time on this site.Very nice one indeed.
Gregg- Who is "ARS" ? I bought a Spectrapure several years ago for my reef tank. I'm now setting up a 200 ga. and need to replace the R.O/D.I filters. That's why I'm asking about ARS.
Thanks,
Kevin
