I was shipped Actinic white VHOs instead of the requested Superactinic R.
Anybody have thoughts on which would actually be better for the tank? I've got superactinic now (along with aquasun) and don't want to change if it could be worse for the tank. Also concerned about the effects of switching over, will the corals freak out.
URI site says actinic white is 12k Kelvin, but doesn't list rating for superactinic (other than stating it's 100% blue). They rate the aquasun at 10k Kelvin.

True actinics are 7100 Kelvin
I would send them back and have them ship you the real ones or you can keep them and replace your aquasuns when ready.
I actually run 4 VHO's over a 55 and run two actinics and two 50/50's(actinic whites)

man...I just re-checked the other two bulbs...they're actually the superactinics I ordered.
But will it disrupt the tank (esp bulb anemones) if I just suddenly change over from an aquasun/superactnic combination to an actinic white/superactinic combination? Or will rotating them in slowly help things acclimate? And I thought the anemones preferred that full spectrum of the aquasun?

I never had any problems with a Ectacmea quadricolor under 50/50 but with any lighting change it is always good to go slow.
So your saying you never got the 50/50s now or you reordered more bulbs by default?
If you want to switch the aquasuns to 50/50 just do it one at a time.

I got the superactinics I ordered and the 50/50 instead of the aquasuns.
But I already put in one of the 50/50s and must say I think I like the color better anyway. I think I'll just rotate out the aquasuns and see how things go for a while.
