Halogen lights for a reef??? [Archive]

I was wondering, does anyone know if Halogen lights would be any good for a reef? They seem to be rather powerful(250w/500w) and rather inexpensive. Would this type of lighting work for a reef?

Nope they are completely the wrong spectrum.
