Need 175 watt bulb help

Which bulbs are better for 175mh 10,000K Ushio or Hamilton?

I usally prefer Ushio but I do not know if either is better than the other.

I've used Ushio the last two times but the intensity seems to be falling off at about 6 months, maybe the ballast (custom sea life) is driving them a little hard, I thought you should be able to get 9-12 months out of them. I like the look they give the tank though.

I use Ushio as well and am pleased.

Yes they should be good for about 1 year. The ballast may be burnig them faster though like you siad. I have only used electronic ballast though so not for sure.
