Russ would you please turn off your cap lock. I feel like you are yelling at me. I have heard that changing salts after using the same brand for a period of time should be done very slowly. Such as in small amounts in your water changes vefore converting over to that salt alone. I have thought to switcj over recently, but have not decided on the salt as of yet.

I use the salt Ron Shimek ran to and graded the best in the latest salt tests he ran determining the best larval development. That would be Crystal Sea MarineMix BioAssay. Good thing about them is the salt is manufactured less than half an hour away from my house.

You can try about any salt. They all work to one point or another. Some are better than others for reefs than Fish Only tanks. The salt you mentioned I have never used and dont know of anyone that has personally so could not say anything good or bad about.
I use the same salt as Chuck does Crystal Seas Marine Mix Bioassey personally. When I switched to the salt about a year ago I did it very slowly doing 1 gall water changes every day for 2 weeks and slowly worked up from there for a couple of months.

Yeah the good part is while alot of people are switching to that salt because of Shimek's tests I have been telling people for years how great it is and cheap in price. Retail around here it is 22.99 a 150gallon box.

I can't find it in this area. But I understand that some LFS's are carrying it down south Jersey. Since we are having a meeting down there on the 29th next month, think I will either find a store near the meeting or go over to the hidden reef in PA and pick some up. That is if they carry it. Hey Chuck, how far away are you from exit 3 on the parkway??

It is not around here either so we order a pallet of the salt and went from there. Thing is though that half the people who got it decided not to use it after see a few people having problems with bleach so there was plenty of extra around. I am on my last box but my buddy that runs a store here still has 5 boxes that I can probably pick up pretty cheap so I will be good till next year Im sure.
