Does anyone know how much I'll screw up my PH if I top off my evaporation with straight RO. I am moving my tank in a week or so (after much planning!) and am trying to automate as much as possible (I travel often). I am adding a calcium reactor to help with making things stable. I am hoping the higher dKH help keep things from dropping like it has in the past with out the reactor. Any other suggestions?

It all depends on your evaporation rate and tank volume
I like to use caribsea's aragramight works pretty good for R/o top up water,If your evaporation rate is quite high you could have a drop in alk... In R/o water (depending on the model) the alklinity is usaully pretty low and can lower overall tank alk...

I am always fighting low alk and top off with plain ro/di water but some day when I add a cal reactor it should fix that.

I am looking to put a float valve in the sump straight from the RO...a 30gpd 3 stage unit...my tank loses about 2.5 gallons a day...I top off with a kalk drip now to keep up alk and PH but refilling the the drip box is a pain...and doesn't allow me away from the tank for more than three days tops! I know RO is low in both areas...will the calc reactor help keep it from dropping that much?
