Questions about frags

First of all wanted to say that this seems like a great site. I am new to the hobby and find myself already addicted. I was wondering what it takes to put frags into a tank. I am still in college and am trying to find the cheapest way to establish some nice beginner corals. I read a couple of posts that talked about coral clubs but can you join them if you have yet to have any corals. I am waiting to set up my tank until I graduate college (graduation money) but wondered if some kindhearted members of these coral clubs would be willing to donate. I hate sounding like a begger, but I feel so overextended as it is with the purchasing of protein skimmers, uv sterilizers, ro/di units, lighting, etc. Any information is greatly appreciated as I am very eager to learn about this fascinating hobby. Thanks

There is usally some one willing to hand out a frag here and there to get a person going. I am sure there is a salt water club some where in St Louis that you can join. Ask around at some of the local fish stores. If you cant find one start one up. People will ship you frags but you usally have to pay the shipping which can be pretty expensive.
