I am looking for a powerful, SMALL, QUIET, powerhead. I like the aquaglobes because they are really small but they are kind of loud. I was hoping to find a small powerhead that is more quiet though.

I prefer Maxi Jets for powerheads. They are probably not the smallest but are quite and have probably the best suction cups for a powerhead and are the most dependable.

Look at minjet 606. - I keep reading that the new maxijets are no good. The old ones are great

Do you guys run your powerheads 24/7 or do you have them on timers? if you have it on a 24/7 rate how long do you think the powerhead would last?

I use one of those wave maker power strips turning them on and off every 45 secs...the pumps are Mag Drive 7s and I have replaced the impellers once in 3.5 yrs.

I have run Maxi Jets both ways and they last years. I have had only one impelar go bad in 4 years of using MJ.
