Hey..so i've been reading a lot about clean up crews to control algae etc...but we all have different setups...so here's my question:

I have a:
46 gallon bow (penguin 330, seaclear 100 skimmer)
fiji live rock (fyi...i will be making it a reef in a few months)
2 feather dusters
1 yellow tang
1 lawnmower blenny
2 perculas
1 bangai cardinal
2 pepermint shrimps
1 cleaner shrimp
12 cerith snails
5 other snails(not sure which)

Question # 1 - how the hell do you know if it's algae on your rocks or some other stuff? I got purple on my rocks mostly - is that algae?

Question # 2 - i was gonna add more nassarius snails (10-20_ and another 10 astreas - is that too much or too little?

Question # 3 - my water is not perfectly clear...lots of little white paricles and tiny bubbles...is this algae too? I want clear water...how do i accomplish that?

Question # 4 - i got one of those air bubble strips under the rocks...i heard this is bad...is it? and why?

All you reef buffs....HELP!!!!!!

Purple algea is coraline algea which is a good thing.
20 nassarius snails in your tank is about right.
The tiny bubbles are most likly coming from your skimmer. To check just unplug it for a few minutes and see if they go away.
Air bubbles stips are okay but could also be contributing to your micro bubble problem by getting sucked into other equipment that breaks them up into tiny bubbles your getting.
Over all your tank looks pretty good.
