Trigger Fish Compatibility? Favorite free swimming fish?

We are looking for an active, colorful, free-swimming fish to add to a 46 gallon aquarium with live rock, some hermit crabs, blue mushrooms, and two small yellowtail damsels. The humu humu trigger looks like a great option, but we are worried that it would eat our mushrooms, to which we have great sentimental attachment.

Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?

skip the trigger not reef safe for the corals or crabs.
You could try a dwarf angle like a flame angle or flameback both will fit what your looking for. I have a flame in my tank great fish tones of color and very active swimmer.
