Can anyone tell me an effective way to eliminate bristle worms? My local fish store has a trap, but the salesman told me they don't work that well. He suggested an Arrow crab and a reef safe Fairy Wrasse. Has anyone had any luck controlling bristle worms with these? I have an Arrow Crab already, but if he's eating them, he's not keeping up.
I've heard that the worms aren't that bad, and I've heard that they are one of the worst pests a tank can have. Any guidance/advice?

Bristle worms are good for a tank. THey are scavengers. They eat excess foods and wastes in the tank keep in it clean. Now should you run across one over say 9-12" long then maybe remove it other than that keepem. YOur tank is better with them than with out them.

I had read in a book that they will attack soft corals as well as invertabrates such as clams that do not move, is this not the case?

I have both softies and clams and bristles and never had a problem.
Now should one start dieing they will be all over it which is where the legend started probably.

Good enough. I won't worry about them. Thanks!
