does anyone know of a good wavemaker? i had three powerheads attatched to a nature wave power strip ( basicly would fluctuate teh current running to the powerheads) but it was tearing the power heads up badly. already replaced one of the impellers after less than a year and it looks like the other two are going as well.
any ideas would be apreciated.

It is not the wave the maker it is the power heads.
What power heads are you using?
Maxi Jets are the best I know of for taking the abuse of being constantly turned on and off.

I like john rice's DIY wavemaker which has incorporated soft starting of the pumps .
It's alittle technical but it works great
I AM USING WAVE2K WAVEMAKERS WHICH ARE PLASTIC BOXES THAT YOU SUBMERGE IN THE MAIN TANK, WATER IS SUCKED IN AND OUT THROUGH THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE BOXES VIA OPENINGS ALONG THE FRONT AND SIDES OF THE BOX, THIS CREATES A SURGE EFFECT.
JUST LOOKUP WAVE2K ON THE NET, THEY ARE 200.00 EACH.

What sized tank are you using for your Wave2k? I'm curious, can small creatures get sucked into the inlet/outlet? How long have you been running the Wave2k? I'm considering getting one for our 75 gallon reef aquarium (which just got set up one week ago).
