I now know that adding fishes to a reef tank requires more research than adding fishes to a fresh water tank. Benefactor of my ignorance has been my LFS but I do get 20% off the next fish when I return one. I now have a Tomato Clown and a Royal Gramma. I am thinking of getting a small ( 2” ) Yellow Tang, will it out grow my 45 Gal tank too quickly ?

What other fishes can anyone suggest ?

My tank is only 3 months old so I cannot have bottom feeders like a Mandarin.

You should probably skip the yellow tang to small of a tank for a tang. There are lots of reef safe wrasses that would be nice along with gobies and blennies and of course always the clowns.

try chalk bass. really mellow compared to most reef fish and they stay small..plus they dont usually fight with one another.
