Red Starfish problem . . .

hey all, i just recently added a red starfish to my tank and its been doing well moving all around and i just noticed that there is a small laceration on its top. it looks as if the top layer is peeling away in a small location. does anyone know much about starfish and have heard of this?

Is this a linka star fish you have or some thing towards that? They may look fine for the first few days then start to deteriate fairly fast it they start to die. Just keep a cloose eye on it for the next week and see if gets worse.
