Hey Gang quick question:

I recently purchased a used 90G tank and it came with 2 48" Custom SeaLife PC's running 2 65W bulbs each (4 * 65w) is this enough light?

Right now the tank is FOWLR and an anemone, I would like to go to a fish/reef mix eventually.

Thanks in advance for all the insight

Generally, you will want 4-6 watts per gallon to keep livestock(anemones and most light-loving organisms) happy. You may get by if your placement is high enough in the tank. Good luck!

It is enough for most all softies and lps with the more light loveing towards the top of the pile.

We have 4 110 Watt 2 are actinic "03" and 2 are actinic white and 2 160 Watt 1 actinic "03" and one actinic white VHO tubes on our 110 gallon (wanta be reef). That is a total 760 watts of light which is almost 7 watts per gallon. I have been thinking about adding 3 175 watt metal halide lights also. Would the addition of the metal halide lights make our corals healthier, are metal halide lights really that much better? Currently we keeping about 4 different types of mushrooms, finger leather, colt coral, cup coral, cabbage leather, bubble coral, torch coral, a cauliflower and a clam. most seem to be doing pretty good just not a huge amount of growth. Would they benefit from the addition of the metal halides?
