I have not done any significant water changes in about 2 months. The last 20% change was little over a month ago. I have purchase a RO system over a month ago and have not even taken it out of the box! The readings from my weekly water test have shown Ammonia, Ni & Na reading to be zero. Someone advised me that maybe my tank is doing great and I shouldn’t do anything to it. This is one of the reasons why I have not used my brand new RO system.

Do you need to do water changes when everything seems great ?

I do water change on my tanks if they like it or not /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
There are a lot things in tanks than you can test for. And just the 3 tests you list on touches the tip of the ice berg.
Water changes remove excess nutrients and wastes that your not testing for and replenishes trace elements that are being used up and deluiting trace elements the are not.
Do your once a month water change you corals will thank you for it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I highly agree that you should do regular water changes, if only to replace trace elements. Good, clean, fresh saltwater is literally like a breath of fresh air to the creatures in the tank.
