I am building a plywood/glass aquarium. It is in the shape of an "L". The total dimensions are 154 L 16 W 21 H. I have been looking around and noticed that the reccommended glass thickness for 21" is 1/2" of glass. With the weird shape and extra long size would 1/2" glass work? Or would 3/4" glass be sufficient? Or if you would really really reccommend acrylic what thickness would you use?
(The diminsions of 154 16 21 are the plywood. The actual glass would be around 42L on one side and 80 inches long on the other side both would be 21" high)

Thanks,
Viowyn

That sounds ok to me....1/2" glass is fine for (max)6ft x 1.75ft high....... 1/2" = 12.5mm glass

3/4" glass for a max lenght of 6ft @ 1.75 ft high would be well over the top!!

My tank (314 galls)is 7ft long and 2 ft wide and 3ft high and is 15mm glass. double 10mm base....

Go with the 1/2" of glass....

am no expert on plywood tanks but good luck.
