refugium affects

currently i have a 110 gallon reef tank. nitrates generaly want to stay somewhere around 10ppm. i just added a refug and 50 more pounds of sand to the tank. the refuge is stocked with caulerpa sampler, spagheti algae, green and red gracillaria and live sand. also running a remora protein skimmer. with the addition of the refug and additional sand how fast should i start to see results?

it shouldnt take too long but i would have used maricle mud, it has all your trace elements in it, it comes from a dried up area that used to be submerged in the ocean.
