when i stocked my refug with macroalgae did i need to plant each piece in the sand or could i just allow it to float around and settel where it wants?

you can do a little of both

Depending on how much Culerpa or other macro you are using, You my want to use a 2-3Lbs. peice of live rock and bundle up the stalks of the macro and place the rock on them. I've seen this done and It works well! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/peace.gif
