I have an aquarium that is 94 gallons that has 4 supply bulkheads and 3 drain bulkheads. It also has a 55 gallon sump. Both drain and Supply are run through an adjustable manifold. I'm trying to figure out what size pump to run on this without overflowing the tank; by too much supply or how to not underflow it by too much drain. I'm guessing on the most part it is a calibration of the adjustable manifold but how do I know if I have a big enough pump to keep the aquarium supplied with the right amount of water. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I do have pictures of the aquarium and its parts but trying to figure out how to put the puzzle back together. Any and all replies welcome /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/spin.gif

What size are the bulk heads? What size is the manifold? If the drain bulkheads are 1 inch then you can figure being able to run 600 gallons an hr through them safely each. Most shoot for 7-10 times the tank volume an hr for turn over. You have a huge sump to work with so you could up the volume a bit. Your tank being a 94 gal tank would be aprox 650 an hr on the low side and 940 on the more normal side if they are 1 inch. Now keep in mind the more you flow through more drains the more noise you will create unless you use stand pipes. Pictures would be a big help along with the bulk head hole diameters for both the supply and drains. Is this a reef ready design or a regular tank?
