Aqua C Remora

Hey guys,
I just got the Aqua C remora for christmas, and i plugged it in with the maxi Jet 1200 pump, i find that it produces the foam extremely quick and the collection cup fills up within 20 minutes with water /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doah.gif. does anyone have experience with these skimmers?

Sounds like you have the collection cup set too low try raising it up some and see if that helps slow down the flow of liquid. You should adjust it up until you get ”dryer" foam coming over the top of the collection cup.

my collection cup is raised to its maximum. Can you think of any other reasons as to why the bubbles are filling the cup so quickly?

What additives if any are you putting in the tank? If the cup is all the way up it shouldn’t fill that fast. The only times I have ever had that type of problem with any of my skimmers was when I put some red slime algae remover in the tank. It cranked out the water until most of it was skimmed out then they would settle back down. You may also be able to change the distance between the pump and the skimmer by adding a length of hose between them depending on how the pump is hooked to the skimmer.That would increase the head pressure slightly and slow down the flow a bit. It could just be that the skimmer is pulling a lot of something out of the water, if you can, run a drain hose to a larger bucket and keep adding more water to replace what you are loosing and let it go for a while. If you worried about it shut it down at night or when you can’t keep an eye on it. I would give that a try and see if it settles down after awhile.
