Let's talk. I have the tank described below. I've recently found a good population of small flat worms in the system. When viewed from the front glass of the tank, they appear very simular to C. Retrogemma. From a top view, they are a blue/grey color. There are hundreds of them in the tank. They stay in the lower 3-4 inches of the tank and mostly on the substrate. They appear to avoid all of the corals in the tank including the Mushrooms, leathers, xenias, and sps's. That is to say I have NEVER seen any of the worms on ANY coral. The only place I've seen them is on the substrate, glass, and rock. All corals appear healthy.
During a brief period, the tank was over fed while I was away. At this point I feel that the human equivalent would be grey hair...It's not hurting anything, but not really desired. Any thoughts?

You are probably right in thinking it was the over feeding,I'm not knowlegable on this species of worm but I know that bristle worms are opportunists and will thrive in high nutrient conditions caused by over feeding.
I would stick to the basics, water changes every day for several days and monitor your Nasties levels i.e..Am,Ni,Na,Ph02.
And feed only flake food and be tight.Restraint is the best thing!

Thanks for the reply! Here are the current stats...SG@78 F=1.0245--- NO3= 2.5mg/l---PO4 <.1mg/l--- CA >460 ppm ---dKH >9.0. My feeding consists of morning CYCLOPEEZE about the size of a green pea. The Pseudochromis and Tang both pick them out of the water and the corals do a great job of filtering out the rest. (I turn the skimmer off for about 30 minutes so as not to pull the food out of the water coulmn.) Every other day I feed the tang a 1/4 inch by 2 inch piece of Ocean Nutrition's Seaweed Selects that I tie onto a shell that's attached to some fishing line for removal. I only treat flake food once in awhile when I can't stand the Tang's begging action. I think this is where my house sitter went astray and overfed the tank.
Again, thanks for the reply. Do you, or anyone else out there, know how to post pictures to this site? I'd like to share my little piece of ocean.
