Description: The Bluefin Angelfish is also referred to as the Dusky Angelfish*, Dusky Cherub, Manyspined Angelfish, Multi-spined Angelfish, and Black Angelfish. It is a blackish-blue "dusky" color, with lighter blue marbling on the dorsal, caudal, and anal fins; and a thin, sapphire-blue outline on the anal and caudal fins.

A minimum of a 30 gallon tank with lots of hiding places and live rock for grazing will provide a good environment. The smaller the environment, the more aggressive the Bluefin Angelfish will be. Not a good reef dweller, the Bluefin Angelfish is prone to nip at sessile invertebrates.

It is hermaphroditic, very difficult to breed in an aquarium, and has no distinguishable differences in color between male to female.

The diet of the Bluefin Angelfish should include Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysid or frozen shrimp, and other meaty fare.
