Description: Characters: Branches are thick (5-9 mm), short and strongly tapered. They are usually in fused clumps. Corallites are aligned in rows which are raised into ridges down the sides of branches. Tentacles are usually extended only at night.

Colour: Pink or yellow-green.

Similar species: Seriatopora aculeata, which has similar branch shapes but irregularly distributed corallites. Also S. hystrix, which does not have corallites on ridges and seldom has such thick branches.

Habitat: Shallow reef environments.

Abundance: Uncommon.
