Description:
|
Characters: Colonies may be over 2 metres across, composed of irregularly fused horizontal branches, with upturned pointed ends except at the colony perimeter. Colonies usually have a side attachment. Branches are irregularly spaced. Radial corallites are uniform, tubular, and neatly aligned along branches.
Colour: Cream or pale brown.
Similar species: Acropora valenciennesi, which has a more uniform appearance with neatly arranged, larger and more widely spaced branches. Acropora yongei has similar corallites. See also A. acuminata and A. indonesia.
Habitat: Shallow reef environments.
Abundance: Common.
