Description: Characters: Colonies are corymbose plates up to approximately one metre across, with short, uniform, evenly spaced, tapered branchlets up to 15 millimetres thick at the base. Axial corallites are tubular and not conspicuous. Radial corallites are of mixed sizes, larger corallites being even, tubular and appressed.

Colour: Grey, pink or blue.

Similar species: Acropora microclados, which has exsert, sharp edged, radial corallites. See also A. lamarcki, which has smaller branchlets and less uniform radial corallites and A. ocellata, which has relatively crowded corallites.

Habitat: Upper reef slopes.

Abundance: Common in Indonesia, uncommon elsewhere
