Description: Characters: Colonies are bushy or have thick bottlebrush-like branches. Branchlets and sub-branchlets are compact and of uniform shape. Axial and incipient axial corallites intergrade with radial corallites and are distinctively tubular, with truncated ends. Small radial corallites are pocket-shaped.

Colour: Grey-brown.

Similar species: Acropora longicyathus, which has shorter corallites that are not truncated. See also A. elseyi, which does not have branchlets of uniform length and truncated corallites.

Habitat: Shallow reef slopes and fringing reefs.
