Characters: Colonies are digitate, with only slightly tapering branches. Axial corallites are approximately twice the size of radial corallites. Radial corallites are short, tubular and outward facing, with distinctive wide openings.
Colour: Pale brown or cream, occasionally with blue branch tips.
Similar species: Acropora verweyi. Acropora digitifera has similar branch shapes but radial corallites do not have wide openings. Acropora arabensis and A. chesterfieldensis have appressed radial corallites.
