Description: Characters: Colonies are hemispherical or flat. Corallites are angular and deep. Septa are even, with fine teeth. Paliform lobes are weakly developed.

Colour: Brown with pale oral discs.

Similar species: Favites flexuosa, which has identical corallite shape but septa have conspicuous teeth, a distinction which is clear underwater. Favites vasta has larger, less angular corallites and a distinctive colouration.

Habitat: Shallow reef environments.

Abundance: Uncommon.
