Description: Characters: Colonies are massive and are commonly over one metre across. Corallites are deep and angular and have very thick walls. Septa are equal, uniform, not exsert and finely toothed. Paliform lobes are usually present.

Colour: Walls are always uniform amber with cream or white oral discs.

Similar species: Favites flexuosa, which has more angular corallites with thinner walls and prominent septal teeth.

Habitat: Most reef environments.

Abundance: Uncommon.
